Need a Federal Identification Number (FEIN)?
The terms Employer Identification Number (EIN) and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) are used interchangeably. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) uses these nine-digit numbers to identify legal entities such as corporations, partnerships, estates, and non-profits, to track their tax obligations.
In general, a tax ID number is commonly referred to as a Taxpayer Identification Number, or TIN for short. When a tax ID number is used for reporting employment taxes, we may refer to the tax ID as an Employer Identification Number, or EIN for short.
A Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN), Employer Identification Number (EIN), and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) are all tax ID numbers
Background Checks & Patriot Act Searches
Background checks are often needed on individuals, businesses, and assets. When you need this information, solely a database search is not enough. You need trained and experienced searchers knowledgeable in the court system, public records, and employment verification tools.
Patriot Act stands for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001. The searches are used to uncover individuals or businesses that may be involved with terrorism, money laundering or other violations. The need for these searches is critical as the responsibility is on the party seeking to do business with these individuals or businesses.
OFAC Office of Foreign Asset Control Searches often accompany these requests. The search is performed on a list of known terrorists, terrorism supporters or those engaged in related activities.
